Arrival
Registration for festivals is generally open from 7:00 am – 9:00 a.m. Team Captains and/or Coach will let you know expected time to be at each festival after the schedule is posted. Plan on arriving on time.
If you are interested in sharing a ride, please plan early so you are not scrambling at the last minute! You can use the discussion section of the Festivals to arrange rides!
Races
The schedule will usually be posted ahead of time
Generally, each team does 3 races. There can be exceptions to this – see individual race page info for specific race information
There is often down-time between the races. If you need to leave the tent area for any reason, check in with your captain or coach. We will NOT have time to look for you when the race is about to start.
Sometimes there is very little lead time between races, so staying in touch with the Coaches is of vital importance.
Food and Drink
Paddlers often bring snacks/food to share. It is important to stay fueled, but not eat too much to feel lethargic at the start line.
Examples of food: nuts, cheeses, protein bars, fruit.
There is usually a variety of healthy, snacky options.
Bring water to hydrate between races. Do NOT bring water bottle on the boat.
There is no alcohol drinking until after the very last race. Once you see coach pop a drink, it’s okay.
What to bring
- Paddles (if you have one, paddles are also provided by the festival)

- Sun screen
- Snack to share
- Water bottle(s)
- Camping chair or blanket to sit on
- Downtime activity – game, book, etc.
