With nearly 20 years of experience as a registered nurse, Melissa Hawver has developed a deep expertise in Internal Medicine, providing compassionate, high-quality care to patients with a wide range of complex health needs. Known for her clinical precision and empathetic approach, Melissa is dedicated to supporting both her patients and healthcare teams, ensuring the best possible outcomes in every situation.
Outside of her nursing career, Melissa is also an avid dragon boat racer. She has paddled with the Motley Crew for 8 years, a team that she considers a family both on and off the water. The Motley Crew is a group built on encouragement, support, and a competitive spirit. Melissa was first hooked on dragon boating after attending her exhilarating first race in Blue Island, a moment that sparked her passion for the sport and led to a lasting connection with the team.
As Co-Captain, Melissa plays a key role in organizing the logistical aspects of their festival participation, from managing sign-ups to overseeing payments, and even assisting with boat seating. Her organizational skills and leadership help ensure the smooth operation of every event.
In addition to dragon boating, Melissa is also passionate about riding her Harley and keeping up with her energetic 10-year-old’s busy activities. Whether it’s cruising on her motorcycle or cheering on her child at events, Melissa thrives on the balance between her personal adventures and family life.
